Situated in Levy County in the northwestern part of the state, Cedar Key is formed of a cluster of little islands just off the mainland. The population is approximately 800 full time residents. It crosses over the salt marshes and channels on four small, low bridges. Highway 24 is only one road coming into town. It sits three miles out into the Gulf of Mexico. Our island is located 50 miles southwest of Gainesville, Florida.
